On 30 March 2023, two RE-SAMPLE PhD students - Eline te Braake and Roswita Vaseur - participated in the Girls' Day event on the campus of the University of Twente to promote diversity, equity and inclusion in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics).
In a fun way, Eline and Roswita introduced the RE-SAMPLE project and e-Health technology to about 25-30 girls aged 12-13. In smaller groups, the girls designed their own e-Healh solution on paper. One group, for example, designed a mobile application connected to a smart watch for a fictional 71-year old grandfather who wanted to be more physically active. Eline and Roswita were very impressed by all the designs and excitment, and believe that they managed to inspire these girls about careers in e-Health technology!
